Hello Crew!

You have probably been wondering what the story is on our Rafting Superactivity and here is the scoop. For those of you who don’t know over 35 have expressed interest, so this is going to go down as a very memorable trip-don’t miss out.

We had to change the dates based on the abundant snowpack, which would put us above the maximum 20,000 cfs limit imposed by the BSA. The new dates are June 30-July 6th.

Now for the bad news: The deposit is a lot more than we thought: $350 and it is due by 1/31/2013. In the event that someone is unable to go, they can find a replacement and they can get their deposit back. Otherwise, your deposit is non-refundable.

To those of you who are out of area, you can send your deposit to Nat Walker, VP Finance . His mailing address is PO Box 6, Hansville WA 98340 (Nat if this is wrong let us all know ASAP!)

For right now, we are taking deposits from only Crew 1042 youth. Since we don’t know how many non-crew participants will be able to go, have your families make sure they have the resources to pay for other family member deposits on very short notice. The prioritization for people who are going is Crew 1042 youth, Crew 1042 adults/family, and finally other BSA registered youth 13+/adults in that order.

It looks like for now that everyone will have to do the BSA swim test, but we are still working out the details. Those who are off at college can take the test near their school but at least 2 weeks before the trip. All adults that will be going MUST be current in there Safe Swim Defense and Safety Afloat training. It is strongly suggested that all youth participants receive this training as well.
