Orca District Unit Leaders,

Please note that the registration period for the *Orca District Merit Badge
Clinic*, which was scheduled to close on January 2nd, has been extended for
a few more days because there are still quite a few open seats for some
merit badges class sections.  The Clinic "seats" are approximately 80%
filled now, and we realize that some individuals may have procrastinated a
bit in registering or may have been out of the area over the holidays.

So, we will keep the registration system open until *MIDNIGHT,
SUNDAY, JANUARY 6TH*.  At that time, all class sections will be closed to
further registration so that the Merit Badge Counselors can immediately
start working with the Scouts via e-mail, as planned.  Remember, this year
we are operating as an *eight-week Clinic* *period*, with three "hands-on"
Saturday sessions (1/19, 1/26, and 2/2) for in-person work with the
Counselors.

*So, please immediately pass the word of the registration extension to the
Scouts in your units* so that any who might still want to take advantage of
the remaining openings can have a final chance to register.  They may do so
using the Merit Badge Clinic's webiste at: http://mbclinic.orcabsa.org/.

*Anyone* can check a unit's registration progress there as well, using the
"Unit Reports" function at: http://mbclinic.orcabsa.org/units/ (just enter
your unit number in the Unit # box there).

Also, several units have Scout listed in the registration system who have
not selected any merit badges for the Clinic sessions.  Please note that
any such Scouts without merit badges classes will be deleted from the unit
listings at the close of the registration period, so some unit
participation counts will change at that time.
