Subject: Venturing Bronze Award - Band

 


  <http://www.crew42.org/images/stories/Venturing/Vent_bronze_metal_arts.jpg> To earn the Band Arts and Hobbies Bronze award, do nine of the following:

1.	Visit a band performance or theatrical production that uses state-of-the-art equipment and see how the new equipment is used.
2.	Create a display on a band instrument or aspect of band. Using the display, give a presentation to a Crew, Troop, Pack, or other youth group.
3.	Learn about an aspect of band. Critique the work of someone who ahs done something in that area.
4.	Learn another musical instrument or choose a new hobby. Keep a log for 90 days of each time you participate in the hobby or play the instrument. Take pictures or keep memorabilia about the subject. After 90 days, present what you have learned to a Crew, Troop, Pack or other youth group.
5.	Tour a band concert hall or theatrical facility. Talk with the person who operates the facility. Attend a performance at the facility.
6.	For at least 90 days, participate in marching or stage band.
7.	Lead or participate in a discussion about the benefits of playing in a band.
8.	Learn about an instrument, marching style, or playing style other than your own. Share what you have learned with a Crew, Troop, Pack or other youth group.
9.	Teach another student a skill they need for band.
10.	Organize and event or an aspect of an event related to band.
11.	Organize a competition or an aspect of a competition that test skills needed for band.
12.	Using your artistic ability, volunteer in a band, orchestra, or theatrical activity.
