Santa arrived a few days early and left a special treat in Dante M's stocking this year.  With only a few days home during his winter break from college, the District folks were kind enough to convene an Eagle Board of Review and advance Dante to the highest rank in Boy Scouting.  It was truly an unconventional Board, since Dante's trail didn't follow the conventional path...he came to the Crew as a First Class and performed all his requirements for Star, Life, and then Eagle as a Venturer.  That's right, there was no Boy Scout Handbook.  He wasn't a Patrol Leader, but served for two years as a Vice President.  Instead of a merit badge sash, he proudly wore a bear claw necklace from his Kodiak leadership trek.  There were no rank patches on his pockets, but they were adorned with an Outdoor Bronze Award and a Philmont Arrowhead.
