It looks like once is not enough.  While many Venturing Crews may never get the chance, Crew 42 appears to be getting an encore.

Wood Badge is the advanced training course for adults in Scouting, and we were invited to serve on staff in the Fall of 2008.  During that course at Camp Parsons in Brinnon, the Crew lead the inter-Patrol Challenges (teamwork games), showed the adults how to properly set up a backpacking camp site, explained the principles of Leave No Trace, and integrated 2 Venturers into each of the 8 Wood Badge patrols.  The Crew also audited the Patrol projects, which were timed presentations by the adults on many different subjects on how Scouting is run in the USA.  Did we mention that Parsons is the oldest Scout Camp west of the Mississippi and has an extremely rich history that dates back to 1919?  We felt we prepped hard and gave it a pretty good shot, and it appears we did.  Last week, we were contacted by the leaders of the Spring 2010 Wood Badge course and invited to staff the Centennial Course, marking the Boy Scouts of America's 100th Anniversary.  Not too shabby, eh?
